ABOUT ROKSANA

“Ever since I started to play violin my goal was to get to the deepest part of the human soul, to make people who hear me feel something special. Music has always been with me, and everything started from the moment when my father picked up his saxophone and played “Autumn leaves” to me as a child”.

After finishing her studies in Lublin, Roksana decided to travel and pursue her interests outside of music, leaving the violin and moving to England. There, she pursued a successful career in managerial. Slowly over time, she realised that her passion since she was eight, could not be replaced. Once, when she was visiting family in Poland, she decided to take the violin with her to UK. Turning back to the arts, she enrolled at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2017 where she studied with Jiafeng Chen and Mr. Wen Zhou Li. She has since taken Master Classes with Tasmin Little, Savva Fatkulin, Oliver Wille, and Susanne Stanzeleit. During her time at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, she has performed several projects, including a performance with the Conductor of the City of Birmingham Orchestra, Michael Seal. Roksana is very passionate about chamber music and she had the chance to be coached by members of Castalian Quartet, Robin Ireland, Eduardo Vassallo, and Pawel Fisher. She competed in the Sylvia Cleaver Chamber Music Prize and reached the final with her piano trio. Roksana has now found joy in passing on her knowledge through teaching.

Roksana Grobelna is a Polish freelance violinist born in 1995, she grew up in Krasnystaw and in 2021, she graduated from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire with honours. There, she would discover her passion for the violin as well as the piano, learning from Monika Lobodzinska and Martiros Dawtian. During her time at the Lutoslawski Music School, she competed in various competitions for young musicians in Zamosc, Chelm, and Lublin. With a drive to expand her knowledge, Roksana enrolled in Masterclasses with violinists, Marcin Baranowski and Justyna Piekos.
